If you want to start a blog, then you are reading the right post.

You are ready to become a blogger by writing your first blog post. You don't need any knowledge of HTML coding or graphic design. The mechanics of writing a blog post are not much different from writing and E-mail.

There are many blogging platforms which offer users to create free blogs. If you are looking for a free blog then start blogging with BlogSpot.com or WordPress.com. BlogSpot allows you to create free blog but with some limitations. It is a best platform to get experience. It is powered by Google. You also get a Earning option. You just follow the steps :




1. Sign-In to BlogSpot Blog site

First of all login with your Gmail account in BlogSpot blog site. If you don't have then create one for free. For a first time user you will see an option to use the identity from your Google Plus profile or you can use your limited BlogSpot profile.



2. Create your Blog

Now create a new blog with a unique and suitable name and address (URL). It is use by readers to view your blog. Select a blog template you can change it anytime, and click on "Create Blog".

3. Blogger Dashboard

Dashboard has tabs in left menu for New Post, Overview, Posts, Pages, Comments, Stats, Earnings, Campaigns, Layout, Template, Settings.

For users after the first time

Sign-in to blogger to open the blogger dashboard. It shows the list of your blogs. Your new blog is listed in it. Click on the blog in which you want to work.

4. Write a new post

At the top left click New Post on dashboard and start writing your very first blog post. To see how your blog looks click View blog. Save and publish it.

5. Add Pages to your blog

I suggest that you create at least two pages "About" and "Contact" in your blog. You go to "Pages" and create these pages one by one. In the left menu click Layout, add a Gadget of Pages in the section where you want to show your pages. Click Save arrangements.

6. Change the design of your blog

You can change the design of your blog by use the template designer or CSS. In the left menu, click Template, under "Live on blog" click customize and select background, adjust widths, layout and other settings.

7. Add Gadgets

Gadgets are a great way to personalize your blog and help it stand out from all of the others. Gadgets are small tools or applications that can be added to a blog or website to enhance its content or functions, or to pull content and services from third party websites.


Some Gadgets of Google BlogSpot are :

  1. Featured Post - Highlight a special post on your blog.

  2. Profile - Display your information to your visitors.

  3. Blog Archive - Navigate your blog with links to older posts for your visitors.

  4. AdSense - Displaying relevant ads on your blog to earn revenue.

  5. Pages - Display a list of your created pages on your blog.

  6. Follow by Email - For visitors to subscribe to email delivery when you publish a post.

  7. Translate - To translate your blog into different languages by visitors.
